Look What’s Going On!
It’s time for a review of what’s been happening with First Adventures, including some ongoing activities.
Seven hikers participated in our Spring Hike on and off the Clinton River Trail in Rochester a couple of weeks ago. The weather was perfect and it was very interesting to watch a surprising amount of wildlife and see the freshly blossomed vegetation.
We had a very good response to our Learn to Geocache event held last week. The Michigan Geocahing Organization (MiGO) presented their very interesting and educational Geocahing 101 lesson and overview. They placed several caches of varying difficulty within walking distance of the church and provided GPS units and many expert volunteers to answer all of our questions and even walk with us to give “on the job training”. Again, it was a great day to enjoy the outdoors while learning a new skill and fun but challenging pastime.
We are still accepting registrations for the Adirondack Adventure trip in August. If you think you are interested in going, please send us a note to let us know. We would like to keep you updated on the plans and preparations.
Related to the Adirondack Adventure will be a hike on June 12 at a relatively nearby hilly area for those expecting to hike while in the Adirondacks to check out their climbing conditioning. Even if you are not going to New York with us, send us a note if you want to come along on this day hike.
Of course we still have our Road Bike Rides every Saturday from the church parking lot at 8:00p. We might even hold an impromtu Rock Climbing or Zip Lining session soon. Please join us!
I would like to do the rock climbing and zip lining… let me know.
I’ll be sure to keep you posted.
